How your vendeuse chooses

These are the main parameters, most important first. The first counts for more than all the others combined.

1. The request you made. Before the search runs, a short description is written of what would suit the occasion you described — the garment, the mood, the season, anything you ruled out. Every candidate is scored against that description. This is the largest factor by a wide margin, and it is why the same wardrobe produces different suggestions for a funeral and for a summer wedding.
2. Fit with how you dress. Each piece carries a short structured reading — how formal it is, how it sits on the body, whether it holds its own shape, how its surface meets the light, how loud its pattern is, whether it is a hero piece or a supporting one. Those readings are compared against the same readings of what is already in your wardrobe.
3. Price against what you normally pay. Judged relative to the kind of item it is, not against one flat budget: a bag and a pair of socks are not compared on the same scale.
4. Brands you already own. Read from your wardrobe only — never from anything you follow, like, or do elsewhere on the internet.
5. How recently the piece appeared. A small adjustment, so a catalogue that keeps growing does not keep returning the same items.

After scoring, the results are varied deliberately: the list will not return five near-identical items, or five from one shop, where the catalogue holds more variety. This is why the top of the list is not always in strict score order.

Commission plays no part in the ranking. None of it — not the rate, not whether one shop pays more than another, not whether a shop pays at all.

No shop can pay for a position, a placement, or to be shown more often. There is no advertising inventory. We are paid, when we are paid, by a shop after you buy something, which is set out in the Terms and labelled next to every commercial link.

Nothing from outside the service is used: no browsing history, no cross-site tracking, no advertising profiles, no social accounts, and nothing you do on any other website or app. Only what you have entered and what is in your wardrobe.

Ranking only puts an order on items that are already suitable. Before that, an item is set aside entirely if:

• it is not sold or shipped to your country;
• it is out of stock, or the shop has stopped listing it;
• it is from a shop we no longer work with;
• you already own it, or you have been shown it recently or said you did not want it;
• it does not match a specific requirement of your request — a category, a colour, a dress code, a price limit.

If nothing remains, you are told that nothing suitable is available rather than offered a near miss.

Prices, availability and product details come from the shops themselves and are refreshed daily, rather than at the moment you look. Each suggestion shows when its price was last confirmed, and the shop’s own page is the authority — if the two disagree, the shop is right.

We do not set prices, hold stock, or sell anything. Purchases happen on the shop’s site, under the shop’s terms.

Consumer law requires anyone who lets you search for products to explain what determines the order the results appear in. This page is that explanation.
